Got an HP PSC 2510 all-in-one printer that has always been a nightmare on the wireless. It has issues with dhcp (or lack therof) and configuring it through a wire to work on wireless confuses it. Finally got that problem solved (details here).
Anyway now it's on the wireless I can access it through it's static IP (192.168.0.50) to fiddle with a few settings and see how much ink it has left. I can use the scanner element so it is capable of communicating. However if I try to print nothing happens for ages. Eventually the error message mentioned on this site about the print spooler being unable to connect to my printer pops up. I followed the instructions on there until I got to this line:
'If the IP address matches the one showed in the network configuration page, the cause of error is not covered by this document.'
My IP address does match my printers and so I am f**ked for help from HP. I hate it when you reach the end of useless troubleshooting guides and they just say 'the answer is not here' or, a classic, 'contact your administrator' when they know full f**king well you probably are the administrator. I am seriously p**sed off by this. Any help gladly appreciated!
