This has been solved.... To make your own "CZ" version:

When an SD card is inserted into the card... the contacts pop through the base of the SD card holder:

And short out on the PCB:

You need to remove the SD card reader from inside the N5 & put a bit of tape between it & the PCB before re-soldering it.

    Shit design.

A side effect of the above, if the fuse survives, is corrupted memory cards.... I believe it's the shorting that creates the heat, most solid state can survive a bit of heat for a short time.

quick update ppl!!.doing this fix it is best toremove the transflash cover first(metal cover bit) 4 big solder points quite easy and then replace it onto the holder and then gently lift the front of whole assembly just enough to be able to slide some tape with a pair of tweezers under then gently push back down onto the pcb then resolder the 4 points all done. As when i tried ro remove the whole thing it just broke into pieces maybe my club hands? but i think lol it was just brittle from the amount of heat it had taken in its short life...cheers steve10574

I personally doubt that this is the problem, mainly because that green film on PCB's is not conductive!

And also the fact that there's plenty of through holes under where the SD card sits, so if that were the problem then all the ones that sit neat the contacts of the SD card are to blame, and not just that one.

TBH, im more concerned about the soldering of those SMD capacitors and resistors! Looks like its been done by a 5 year old with those balls of solder on either end opposed to a nice clean join like you see in electronic devices as shown below.

Shoddy design & workmanship! I would just throw them in the bin and buy some M3's or R4's!

thanks herman just cheap nasty chineese shit ,yeah the laqueer on the cards should protect them but maybe continual use could wear it away and even the tape with the card being inserted lol, giving them a trial anyway will buy me some time to get a replacemnt cart from dx but not the n5 they said they will replace but what the point lol, replace shit with shit,so could always use them as ornaments lol, will never rush in to buy a new cart lol cheers steve
