Reason why i posted it ,kids are all too easy to photo ,most of them have loads of dressing up gear as well .Nice weekend project .The photo has only had a few gaussian blurs to soften the image ,washed out background with a little fairy motif mirrored on the top ,i was going to add bluebirds , ribbons etc . The favourite one atm is enchanted theme ,when i get time i will mask a few characters onto another picture and post it up .

works really well, she has an angelic look already, the processing enhances that too.
Ive always wanted to try and recreate some of those scenes from the early disney films where they blended live action and cell animation, but, untill i have a daughter its a little difficult

I am going to be honest here mate and say I really am not a fan of this shot at all, not my cuppa tea, sorry. Was not going to comment at all but felt it better to be honest than not say anything.
Not really feeling the whole enchanted / fairy thing in the corners, I know everyone has there own style and tastes but that ain't mine, as for the portrait shot, it is a little boring TBH, using the enchanted theme is cool if that's what the they want but why not make it more, instead of the girl just sitting there why not have here stood up, turned to one side and waving a wand?? Or something, the expression on her face looks a little forced too, she does not not look relaxed at all. Also the crop, there's a lot of dead space above her head maybe a tighter crop on the image would make it slightly better
Yes I know I have picked the image to pieces but it's just my thoughts on the shot. Please don't be offended my it, no offence is meant, what I have said is just my opinion, and if clients are paying for this type of stuff then fair play for getting them in the door.
But personally my tastes are much different as you may have seen from triptych image I posted a while ago. I am more of a natural style shot person.

Yeah, I'm afraid I agree with most of Wingnut's observations. Although I think you've got the lighting spot on and the shot itself is nice and clear, so that's a great angle to work off. I much prefer candid type portraits though, so "staged" looking shot's are not really my thing either.

well i was going o post a more critical view of it, but i always seem to do that and for once, i thought id be shallow and straight forward , his opinion is worth taking into account, even if you dont agree with it!

    {{909}} - Who's opinion - Mine??

Neo2810 - Was going to comment on the nice even lighting and quality of the skin tones but got too carried away and hit reply before I had chance to add some praise for the shot.
The lighting is just right, nice and even, just possibly a little bounce from under the chin may sort the shadow cast from the tiara out under her eye's but it's hardly noticeable. And the post pro work has given her some nice soft skin too which is a real plus.

Yep i agree with the comments posted wingnut ,the portrait is pretty boring ,and wayyy too much white ,but the theme attached to the picture allows not too tight a crop to allow the photoshop work .Normally the portraits i go for are of the type wingnut posted ,but all i was doing was giving a different type of picture for people to try .Unfortunately any type of portrait like this is going to be restricted to looking posed or staged ,but the themes are a big hit .I dont take offense to constructive critisism ,and was pretty taken aback it wasnt said ealier ,it isnt everybodies cup of tea (photography wise ) ,but to the mum/dad type of view its what people want .
