Kung-fu star Jackie Chan to chop down Olympic protestors

    Tuesday, April 15, 2008

    No messing: Jackie Chan

Kung-fu action hero Jackie Chan has warned anyone planning to stop him carrying the Olympic Torch he will come out fighting.
The Hong Kong hardman, whose films include Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon, is due to carry the torch when it nears Beijing, the venue for this summer's Olympic Games.
The Torch Relay's journey through Europe and North America has seen it become a magnet for protestors angry at China's human rights record and the clampdown in Tibet.

However, Chan insists anyone trying to protest on his watch can expect short shrift, warning: 'Demonstrators better not get anywhere near me.'
And the 54-year-old, speaking at the launch of latest movie Forbidden Kingdom, claimed many of the protestors are simply publicity seekers.
'They are doing it for no reason. They just want to show off on the TV,' he said. 'They know, "if I can get the torch, I can go on the TV for the world news".'
And the actor said he's excited about his homeland hosting the Olympics for the first time, insisting it will speed up China's development.
'It will provide another way for us to tell the world about Chinese culture,' added Chan.
'We are not right about everything. Things are getting better in China but we can change and are changing. We want to learn from the rest of the world as well as teach others about our ways and our culture.'

I'd more concerned about the special ops guys following him, they have had to hold back from kicking the shit out of people abroad, but on their own turf the boys in blue are going to be baton happy!

I'm bored of all this China bashing now, I'm more interested in the up and coming 2012 return of the flame, I wonder if we are going to see any free Iraq protests, or bush bitch placards. I suspect we'll have another bush in power by then! Isn't it "Kill everyone" Jeb's turn?

I like Jackie, it woudl be funny to see him mobbed, not beaten, just a good old fasioned school yard pile up style!

He's old now, and it shoes in his latest film (Legend of the black scorpion). While a one on one woudl fail, a group tatcict not made for camera woudl see the tourch flawed.

2012, not sure if we will see anythign liek this, i guess it depends on the situation then. But considering our actions with the US then if this was our turn I would have thought we woudl see some serious protesting.

    Cheers......Q
