Calzaghe doesnt seem to have the power to knock people out lately, but his superior hand speed will ensure he will get more shots on target and will probably boss the fight in a similar way to the kessler fight.

Cant see it being won by Hopkins on points, however Joe had better watch he doesnt get too complaciant and get caught stupdily and get himself knocked out.

You've got to remember this is the first time Joe has fought at this weight, and his Chin may not be used to taking shots of the extra power that the addional pounds pack.

100% what he said. i would love joe to pull it off, he wont have the knockout power so if he did manage to do it, it would def. be points. hopkins is older but more powerful. joe can really take a punch and is used to getting caught, but being able to take it. hopkins power will win the day by catching joe and KO unfortunately IMO. hope joe can pull it off but doubt it.

Definatly going to points, bear in mind its Calzaghes first fight at light heavy, and that hopkins's conditioning is next to prefect all the time. Was the underdog against winky and tarver and came through easy. Joe has never been in with a dirty fighter like hopkins and will throw up all sorts of problems for him. Hopkins rarely hits the canvas and will distance himself form joe in the ring and make him swing wild. As joe throws over 1000 punches, he is easy to the counter's just ask kessler! What joe does have is age and experience as good as hopkins. He will be able to come in and out with his jabs and just cruise through the fight. Joe to win by split decision although it wouldnt be a total shock to see ol popkins scrape this one through.

Think its 2am saturday night/sunday morning

Should be a great fight, but as mentioned above Joe is stepping up a weight which as Hatton showed is very difficult to do. Not sure if the ref is american, but during the Hatton fight, the ref played a huge part, stopping his flow and slowing the pace down.

Hopkins is a world class fighter and despite his age he is in great shape, think he is 42 but he started boxing later in life as he spent 5 years inside, so surely that will only help him.

Good luck to Joe, lets hope its a great fight worth staying up for

    pah, Joe by miles.

watching the body language of Hopkins yesterday, he's bricking it.
KO all the way, Joe's mentally done him already.

    I hope

Is it a actual 2am start for the fight or the build up? If it is I'll stay awake, if it's likely to be a 4am start then I'll go to bed early and get up.

I am not entirely sure when its going to be on.
The build up starts at 10.30 so it depends how many rounds the undercard fights last I guess.

The Haye v Maccreneli fight ended up starting around 2-2.30am

However the Hatton v Mayweather didnt come on until around 5am

    So in short, fuck knows.

A couple of my mates have gone out there to see the fight and went in Planet Hollywood last night and met Calzaghe and his dad. Harrison and Khan were there aswell, lucky bastards managed to get into the VIP area to have a chat and get some pics!! I knew I should have gone with them. They managed to get some nice seats for the fight aswell.

    Cant wait for this fight.
