i need to make a wordlist containing just capital letters A-Z 8 charactors long
hope that makes sence

:milk :stupid :woot:
got a feeling i might be barking up the wrong trea as sumones told me it might be a rediculous sizr once created
:milk :stupid :woot:
you want all premutations of those chars or you want words? as if it's all premutations it'll be fairly large
all premutations of those chars
:milk :stupid :woot:
I'll start you off mate - AAAAAAAA
plenty of software out there,
google wordlist generators
I know what you are trying to do,
Sky WPA, the first version only uses 8 capital letters, don't forget its quicker to airloib the wordlist rather than brute force it one by one.
If its a later version of the router then dont bother attempting it, the permutations are much higher
undertaker ya bang on with what im trying do lol
ive tried a few word list generators but not found any that can do what i want any recomendations?
when brute forcing how many words p/s can you hit compared to airloibing the database
took me 5 minutes to crack a wep learn linux get the 3945 drivers injecting but wpa especially sky wpa is doing my head in
is there anyway to tell versions of routers via the bssid or essid?
:milk :stupid :woot:
there are some perl scripts that will generate the appropriate data based on what characters you want, or look into jack the ripper JtR,
airolib is much faster, it takes a while for you to create the table, but in the long run its much quicker than plain brute force. Not tried WPA cracking, but its seem quite straightforward... no one round here with WPA sky router so no challenge
no idea how you can identify the router based on mac,
good luck, if you get stuck give me a shout and i'll boot up bt3 and try to generate some wordlists
another way would be to create a fake hotspot with the same mac address and, keep it open and when someone connects you redirect them to a fake login page asking for wpa key,
This is just an aside, the perms of a-z over 8 characters is 26!-18!=a lot
Just had a strong nightcap, but the number of perms is 6402373705728000
p.s. sorry about butting in
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
speed using brute force alone --- 40 keys per second ....... 168 years
speed with airloib - 81 days plus creation time which would could be a few hours
so i put it to you, is it worth 81 days to crack a wpa password?
if you are really desperate to get the password, then split the world list up between 81 people, airlolib and then crack m
tell you what you might be better with the hardware modification of the router to change the mac address and hopefully the default key is in use

would you have a guess to say a tempory change of the macc address using
through telnet of course
ifconfig eth0 down; ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:1b:de:ad:be:ef; ifconfig eth0 up
is most likely not going to change the defaulted wpa key
according to james on sky user
It's possible to do perm change the mac address if you have a connection to the router's console port. You can break into the router's boot sequence and use the CFE console access to change the MAC address permanently.
would mean flashing to netgear firmware change mac then back to sky firmware n hope it generated a new wpa key
anyway more info dug up
pin out diagram you'll need to use a 3.3V level converter! WHAT IS THAT????????
Serial Console
Serial console is J503.
pin
signal
1
GND
2
TX
3
VCC
4
RX
When you start the router, you'll see this message:
Code:
*** Press any key to stop auto run (1 seconds) ***
Auto run second count down: 1Press enter to get to the CFE command line. Obviously, you have to be pretty quick!
The command you need to use to change the MAC address is 'b'.
THEREFORE GENERATING A NEW WPA CODE hopefully lol
