XP Pro wont boot

Hi guys,

Ive been trying to fix a boot problem on a pc using recovery console but it appears there is an administrator password and the owner doesnt know what it is.

I have taken the hd out and slaved it into my pc, will i be able to change/see the password this way?

Also, as i use xp pro and the faulty hd is also xp pro, can i copy some of my "boot" files onto the other 1 so it will work when i re-fit it?

The original error was something like "c:\windows\system32\system\config is missing or corrupt"
