What standalone player plays x264 files?

That's what I'm doing too. Thinking about it, the Popcorn Hour's pretty good, much better than the PS3 at streaming, so it's not gonna be such a hardship waiting until something more powerful comes out. It'll get better with f/ware release too.

All in all, I'd say for a few quid over hundred notes the Popcorn Hour is well worth the money.

Now I've had a few days to throw stuff at it I agree. For the price, it performs well. Other than some of the 1080p stuff it's been pretty good. I've updated the firmware and it seems to have cured some of the rebooting issues.

biggy if u got a ps3, u can convert most x264 to vob very quickly without loss of q
i was gonna buy popcorn til i worked out how to do this
i think there may be something similar for 360
anyway ive no idea if u have ps3, but if so pm for details i show u how

the proggy is called mkv2vob
does most movies in about 10 mins on my pc

mkv2vob converts the audio to AC3 ... or at least it did for me. Also the PS3 could only play about 75% of mkvs I converted.
