D2PRO OR ARGON?

I have a d2c wii and have full sets of snes, n64 and megadrive roms. i want to be able to play them on my wii and also use wii backups and gamecube backups. i also want to be able to update my wii and use it online.

which chip is the best to use for me? i have narrowed it down to d2pro or argon but i am not aware of any others that may work.

d2pro would be spot on if you had better than average soldering skills, or you could use the clip to compliment it. I've used both and I must admit the d2pro is the personal favourite.

i wouldnt solder it myself but may be able to ask a friend who did engineering at university! is it a complex solder job? can u update d2pro?

19 wires for full compatibility and region free, and yeah you can update it with the cable (or CD i believe?)

to update using d2pro do u need to open the wii again? what cable do u mean? the jtag programmer?

yes, its a jtag programmer, you could route the cable to connect the chip to the programmer outside of the case so then you shouldn't need to open the wii to update.

do u know of any where i can get this done? can you do dvd updates?

whoever is fitting your chip will do it if you ask, the cable is a flat ribbon which easily fits though the gap where the usb connector is.

i am not sure who is going to fit it, i need to ask a friend if not i will have to use one of those fitting services. does any one know of any reliable ones?

keep any requests of fitting services to pm's please, we dont want to turn this place into a chipping service directory for legal reasons. Anybody else, please dont say "XXXX will do it" etc, as this is just as bad.
