    Default Sky+ Standby Problem.

Wonder if anyone can help me please.
I have just got a Thomson 80Gig Sky+ box for my bedroom (I have a 160 Gig Thomson downstairs).
I am waiting for a multi-room card to come but I have wired it up and tested the wires with my Thomson from downstairs, everything working OK.
When I put the 80Gig box into standby the red light comes on on the front panel and the picture goes off but the hard drive and fan keep going.
I've left it for a couple of hours and it still whines away.
Like I said its in the bedroom and I don't wont that racket going on all night.
Does anyone know whats going on?
I've switched off auto-standby and switched off anytime.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a total power down by disconnetcing from the main?

My Thomson HD box does this and it need a total power down to cure it.

    Try a system update.

Unplug from mains...hold backup button in whilst switching on at mains...keep button pressed until system update screen comes on screen.

It will then reboot, see what its like then.

OK, I tried the system update but it didn't cure it.
I then went into the engineers menu and did a 'rebuild sky+ planner'. This appears to have cured it
Thanks for the prompt assistance though Nibb, much appreciated.

I just got Sky+. in the manual it says Sky Anytime will mean your HDD is constantly downloading content. It advises to turn it off if you want a "quieter" sky+ box.

    Thanks for that!

And this has what to do with the original topic?
