Default Relief for hay fever sufferers.

Saw an advert in today's tabloids featuring a device, that I can't say I've heard much about before, that apparently relieves hay fever symptoms.

How well the device works I can't say.

    Here's a link for it: http://www.allergymatters.com/acatal...Allergies.html

The advert in the paper said there was an offer on at the moment and you can get from Lloyds Pharmacies for less than £15

    Link: http://shop.lloydspharmacy.com/webap...category=10006

If it works this could save allergy suffers loads of cash.

I've not been bad for a few years, but I remember last year a lot of members on here had it bad.

I saw an ad for this the other day and ordered one online for £49.95. It hasn't come yet so I'll cancel my order and get it from Lloyds instead.

    Nice one mate.

    Works out at £13.49 + £3.95 p&p.

May be worth a post in Biggy7's too, but figured it'd get more exposure in D&D.

This device targets your sensitive nasal passages, desensitizing them, to help defend you from the allergic reaction. The specific bandwidth of visible red light utilized in the Medinose Plus inhibits the release of histamine, slowing down or even eliminating the allergic reaction and the inflammation of your nasal passages. In a controlled trial, 72% of participants reported a reduction in symptoms, which was confirmed by examination showing a significant lessening of nasal inflammation.
Sounds like a load of bollox to me, and 72% of people reporting reduced symptoms could probably be achieved with any placebo.

    Plus it's called medinose.

Mine started about 6 weeks ago, I get it real bad even if al the fucking windows are shut .

It's completely debilatating and also frustrating as I have tried everything from accupuncture, chinese herbs, steroids, bee pollen, every antihistamine that is available (not at once) and nasal sprays (which just make you sneeze more!).

Just phoned the LLoyds round the corner and they have got some in.

Will post back with the results.

Fair point. Given that some sprays and tablets cost near on £5 a go, that 72% may include you then happy days!

Wonder what the %ages are for tablets and sprays as a comparison.

Give me your £13 and I'll sell you some snake oil instead, in my trial 98% of people said it didn't not make them better.

Well it was £14.99 when I got to the shop, the woman who serve me said let her know if it's any good lol.

It's very compact and simple to use. The two light probes that go up your hooter are a bit like tweezers so you pinch them to go in and they close slightly so they stay in place once up there. You press the button and your nose glows red for 3 minutes (a bit like if you put a torch in your mouth) then turns itself off. No sensation and no real discomfort. You can do it once every 5-6 hours no more than 3 times in a one day. I have now done it 3 times and not noticed any difference but it says it can take up to 2 weeks. We will see......
