I am not suprised you need to stuff down loads of food but by eating chocolate and other junk and drinking coke you might as well have caught the train!

Post-journey to work: Try blending porridge oats (100gms) with water & some fruit juice to give flavour (say 25% juice to 75% water mix)the whole drink being a pint. This is a good combo of quick and slow burn carbs that should satisfy your initial hunger and keep you full for at least 3-4hours.

Lunch time: Portion of rice (the Uncle Bens Microwave range have massive variety of flavours and only take 90 seconds to cook)for your carbs with tin of tuna/sardines/mackeral/prawns/seafood sticks. A lot of supermarkets do a fresh "Seafood medley" now which can be frozen and defrosted very easily, with prawns, mussels, squid, shrimp and clams. If you aren't keen on fish and seafood (shame!!) then grilled skinless chicken/turkey are all good and can be flavoured and seasoned to taste but do not smother in rich or creamy sauces. All of the above work in salads too.

Post-journey home: A portion of grilled chicken/turkey/fish/lean beef. Try using these in a stir-fry with loads of vegetables (NOT POTATOES) but everything else is fine. Mix up beans and pulses (the tinned variety are fine):Kidney beans, Haricot beans, Broad beans, chick peas, lentils. Try Quinoa (keen-wah) or couscous as an alternative to rice.

Nobody ever got fat from eating too much veg and salad so pig out on these items and drink more water to satisfy what you think are hunger cravings but are probably just thirst.

I still wouldve eaten all that shite on the train to work anyway lol

but cheers for that mate, i'm a big fan of porridge anyway so will defintley try that...I had chicken with some rice today as it happens...and will try to dig something good out for my dinner tonight...im not the biggest seafood lover but I do like various types of fish and Ive just invested in a steamer so I could do my veg in that aswell

If anyone else has got any tips for me theyre really appreciated

On the way to work on your bike could you not take a pocket full of raisins or maybe even cashew nuts, take some water onboard as well, and when you get there your stomach would feel full.

Cyclists on long rides (much longer than an 8 mile one) would often fill the back pockets on their tops with raisins for energy and combined with water you will feel full afterwards (some of us cheap types still do instead of more expensive energy bars).

    Just an idea.

Not saying this is wrong but when you get up in the morning your stomach has digested whatever was in it from the night before. So any cardio you do after you get up and before you eat should in theory go straight to burning fat. If you eat a banana before your cardio your stomach will then have to burn that off first. Obviously this depends on how long a gap there is between eating the banana and getting on the bike.
