    Help server 2003 share issue

I have a server set up with quite a simple network, however there is not only me who has access, when I checked the other day the data partition D: has now got a share applied (d$) that prevents acess by the users and when I try to change it to give them full acess it tels me that the share is locked for administrative purposes (logged in as administrator). Can anyone advise how to unlock it?? I'm not a server admin as such just having picked things up due to necessity.
    Cheers

C$ and D$. etc are default shares created by windows.

They are locked down to Administrators only I'm afraid, so either you find a way to create a user account thats an admin, join your existing user to the administrators user group or hack the systems administrator account

just create a share at the root of c & d and give everyone full control if that's what you want to acheive...

any share name with a $ after is a hidden share and can't be seen in the network neighborhood. your users will never know they are there. just leave them be. they're used for systems stuff for example if you share a printer it will create a print$ share containing the drivers that connecting users must install to use the printer. fax$ is created for fax sharing, admin$ is the local windows folder etc...
