    Photos Flower season begins!

Taken in the garden, I used curves to lift the background to get the white on white (by using just the bright cloudy sky as a background) and then raised the details of the veins in the petals. Used a pop of fillin flash.

It's so much like a painting I can hardly believe it's done with a camera.

Very stylised, and I can't get anime/manga/japanese console games out of my head when I look at it.

I actually like it a lot, but I can imagine it's one of them things that would be a black and white, I hate it I love it image.

Damn, I almost thought you'd used Fractalis on it then what with the thorns and detail in the leaf.

An unusual flower that I personally have never seen but I do like the shot. I think it works excellently against the pale background.

    EDIT: Fractalius

Yes I meant Fractalius.. lol I missed out the U.

Heh, I think you've captured it so well, Fractalius isn't even required as it has it's own Fractalius type character in the construction of the flower.
