Question wheelie bins and chips--techie question

we are just about to get these dam things, what i want to know is what info can these dam chips hold???.........any techies out there know what these chips are??we`ve been told they will hold the addy the bin belongs too, there for sorting out any neighborly disputes ,,wtf??

personally i think its gonna be a weight thing and eventually they will start charging us if the bin is over weight.

i suppose 1 minute in the microwave will kill em??

    cheers

Bet ya ass it is too make money whatever it does. I fairly sure it is something to do with weight.

Maybe the trucks will have weighing scales on the bin lift and take the weight and your address and then bill you. I maded that up but sounds likely eh.

its for checking weight when it loads onto the truck

truck will have reader/writers in when its over weight theyll bill you depending on how much

afaik they are in many bins but is anywhere actually scanning them yet? Most speculation was that they may start charging for waste disposal by weight.

If you know where the chip is, just cut it out if you don't want them to scan it. I'm guessing a minute in the microwave would do the same job, but can you fit your whole bin in there?

Urban myth. Your council tax would go up loads if they actually implemented equipment to enable them to make use of them. Utter cock.

My neighbours have quite a big family and cos it's only me and the mrs that lives in our house we often let the neighbours use our bin (cos the cunts just used to leave their overflow in their front garden) If this is true about getting charged for weight they can go fuck themselves

The actual chips won't hold any info like that, they'll just hold an identifying serial number.

If they wanted to hold info like how much weight your bin had used and you had removed/fried the chip then they would just manually enter the details for your address rather than it being picked up automatically from the bin.

could have some reverse engineering fun on these chips if there is anything more than just a serial on them

Yeah like giving a negative reading and getting money back from council. I like the way you think.
