Cannot see split Virgin Media with new box

Hi there, recently got a new Virgin Media box " v box SMT 2110C SAMSUNG" before we had the new box installed we ran the outdoor aeriel which connects to antenna socket along with co axel cable from another room and split the pair. i was able to see what was watched on virgin media in my bedroom this way. however with the new box i cannot see it yet i can see the outdoor bbc1 bbc2 etc in my room from the split. i was told maybe to change channel setting or something on the box so i can view it in my bedroom but im unsure what 2 do. i have tried different frequency and nothing. any ideas how i can redo this? also i have rf and aeriel sockets in the back of virgin box and tried to split the cable in my room going to both of them via splitter. if anyone knows how i can get the picture back i would be ever so greatful. thank you in advance. any additional info i can provide.

im asumming your old box connected to your downstairs tv. is that right?

I dont think you can just split the connection via coax because the output of the box goes via hdmi or scart.
You would need a second box and split the cable using the right cabling.

how comes it worked on old virgin media box? and cannot receive it now? thats what i dont get, also the picture on channel 4 from outdoor aeriel we cannot get coz of interference from the virgin box. im sure i do not need a 2nd box as it worked on old box. maybe a transmitter or something if i cannot use the way we did before. i was told to change the frequency or something with the virgin media box but i dunno how 2 do it. apparently its easy with a sky box

The new box may not output in the same way, you may be able to find a software option in the menu to enable he RF output. Why not buy a video sender, you can use a scart output (assuming THAT is enabled) and lose all the cabling.
