Well PS runs perfectly well on good PC too m8
I recently found Xslimmer:
http://www.xslimmer.com/
It removed PowerPC/Intel code (depending on which machine you have) from universal binaries. So they take less space and load quicker!
[Insert funny comment here]
delocalise is another good app, will remove all languages that you don't need for most osx apps.

Bear in mind, though it is a sweet operating system it's not without it's faults including networking/file sharing. Check out some of the forums including the apple support forums and decide if any of the niggles are a problem for you. There have been lots of little patches since release and they seem to have been effective.
i personally havent had any issues with file sharing (although it do work for apple care and deal with the issues on a daily basis)
at the moment im on a train home, and can connect, controll the screen and get files off the hard drive from my mac at home. Good stuff indeed
Cheers

I had an issue after my laptop was changed (hard drive fail, inability to get parts and me being very stern!!) I had had no problems with 10.4 but the new one has 10.5 and as well as file sharing I have huge problems with Time Machine in fact any backup softwarre, another problem shared by ,many on the forums!
All in all though it's light years ahead of Fista.
I use apple remote desktop = dont have to get up of my fat arris to fix the plebs macs do updates and installs remotley
"microsoft" do a free remote access proggy from mac to PC It trealy narks our IT that I can and they cant!!
g8 thread, as a newbie i learnt quit alot thanx all
Having read all the above posts here's a few more that I've found from various places that are useful.
Coconut Battery & Coconut Identity - Monitors battery life and charge cycles, tells you the age of the mac and where it was made.
Onyx - Useful for tweaking and the odd cleanup session, although i've found that is is hardly needed on the MAC as opposed to a PC.
Caffeine - Nice app that sits in the finder menu at the top, click it to keep your mac from going to sleep.
Perian and Flip4Mac - Codecs for Quicktime to let you play most video files, no real need to install VLC if you have these.
Paragon NTFS or NTFS-3g - NTFS write drivers for the mac, useful if you have a portable drive thats formatted to NTFS.
Chronosync - if you have a portable hard drive this app keeps things in sync.
Monolingual - to remove the additional languages.
Cooliris - image viewer for web pages that works so well with my mac.
Hope this helps others.

don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but if your using adium you can also use 'growl' for notifications. this works for most apps, mail, safari, hardware, and itunes... you have to install a few of them separately though. its great and free..
Does anyone know of a cheap, or free archive tool, such as 7zip or winrar?
