Default [Mac Tip] Spotlight as a calculator

    Using Spotlight as a calculator!

It is possible to use Spotlight as a calculator. It is much quicker than loading the dashboard and using the calculator widget.

bummer! thought i could make use of that.
upgraded to 10.5 but loads of issues using networked printers so had to revert to 10.4.

No fear pal there are some better alternatives to built in spotlight:

    http://www.obdev.at/products/launchbar/index.html - Launchbar (approx. £10)

    http://www.blacktree.com/ - Quicksilver (free)

I'm using launchbar and fcuking love it but then I'm always seeking ways to improve workflow (not logging into DF isn't an option).

    These have calculator functionality
