Same! Excellent piece of kit! You get the Pro version for 30 days, then after that they ask you if you want to pay for the Pro version (lets you map printers in your office so all you have to do is click print on your machine that is being remotely controlled and it will print from a printer connected to the PC you are using, and other features like that).
If you dont want to pay for the Pro version after using it for 30 days you just say so and then you can keep using the free version (just gives remote access to your computer back home, and nothing more. No fancy mapping of printers, etc!).
For something that's free, you cant knock it!
Another vote for Logmein.com here, great bit of software.
Or just use RDP within Windows..
windows remote desktop client. just set the listening port to 80 on your computer and it should bypass a lot of company firewalls (unless it has packet inspection capabilities).
do you mean you desktop pc has a static lan ip address or your isp now assigns you a static wan ip address?
If you have a dynamic IP address but want a static one to easily connect to it remotely, just install the free util from no-ip.com
I'd use VNC.
There are many different versions of this software, but i can recommend the following:
RealVnc - The free version
UltraVNC
By default both these versions of VNC will wait on TCP port 5900, so you will need to configure your home modem / router to forward all incoming TCP 5900 port requests to your PC.
On you work ,machine you will only need to install the viewer software of VNC, this is an option when installing.
Make sure you use a secure password for your connection, a good mix of numbers letters with upper and lower case.
Let me know if you need any help configuring your router.

Team view is the one to go for
