i have been having this problem for over two years now on and off where people try to call me but my phone either rings engaged or tells them calls are not currently been conected to this number .
it tends to happen for about a week then go back to normal service with no problems

the number was ported from t mobile around 6 years ago and since then has been used as a contact number for one of my buisnesses which also means i cannot change the number now.

interesting points are
1.orange dont have a engaged tone so cannot explain why its doing this
2.they want me to supply a full list of people who cant get through (how the fuck do i know who is calling and not getting through apart from family and friends)
3.i have tried another handset and brand new sim card with no result
4.there so called technical department will dial my phone around 5 or 6 times when i complain then tell me there is nothing wrong .
5.this can happen at any location so its not a reception issue
6.although i have complained approx 5 times it has only ever been logged on my account once as a complaint
7.its really starting to get on my tits .
8. there is no answerphone service on this account as it is used for 24hr emergency call out .

all they do is offer to change the number but as stated after 6 years of use as the only phone conection to my buisness i couldnt even begin to think about doing that.
i have thought about porting the number agian but just dont trust them after past experiance to get it done quickly and smoothly .

its starting to cause problems now as people think i am purposely turning my phone off even though i am on call

has anybody else had the same experience out of interest ?

yeah mate, I've had similar on PAYG...admittedly not for a while, but then I don't use my phone much.
