    Default New Laptop Time

    Hi,

I need to get a new laptop as the one I currently have and love is about to die on its arse.

The boss has currently gone Mac mad and wants any replacement laptops to be Power Books.

I have been looking around and whilst I know I can use VMware/Parallels to run XP so I can run Outlook I think he would like us to use Entourague.

So my question is what is the best way to move my Outlook 2007 PST file over to Entourage (I would rather use Outlook still myself )

    Thanks for any help

    Regards

    Paul

use vm ware to run xp and then i think its called unity that lets you run windows apps on a mac withougt needing the 2 windows open all the time it even puts the windows task bar at the bottom of the screen although like the dock you can move it (personally i dont like entourage so i use the mac version of thunderbird) and the upside is you can just export straight from outlook and import in to thunderbird

or you could get him to buy a copy of outlook for the mac i think it comes with the office sw

Thanks for the info. I didn't think there was an up to date version of Outlook for the Mac?!!?

I have just found a little $50 app which allows you to save your email folders from within Outlook as mbox files keeping all the attachments and send/receive data which looks like, whilst not fully automated might just do the job.

I am surprised that nobody has writtena one click hit app to do the job yet to be honest.

    Thanks

Ok got the black MacBook and I am actually amazed at how much better OS-X is since I last used it.

I have decided to make life easy on myself and installed Outlook 2007 in to XP and I am running it via Parallels. I have a couple of other legacy apps like NewsLeecher which I want to use too so it is a bit of a no brainer.

It is quite nice having a VPN+RDC session, Parallels running XP and all my native apps and the machine not feeling like it is about to fall over at any point.

So the verdict after 4 days - still in love
