Question Split Sky Signal For Freesat ?

    Hi

Basically I used to have *** and when I bought a Dbox I had a splitter. The master *** feed went into the splitter and then I ran two leads off it to plug into the legit *** box and the other into the dbox.

I just wondered if I could do something similar with my sky feed so I can run freesat off the same wire ?. As it'll save me having to buy a new LNB and drill holes in the front of my house to run the leads from the LNB to the boxes.

    Is it possible ?

    Cheers

From what I have been told you can't split a sky signal to work with freesat so an LMB is the only way I know off.

Jamie is correct m8, you need a twin LNB you cant split the signal from a LNB as it uses either vertical polarity of horizontal polarity but not both at same time.

try blaggin a LNB of a sky engineer and maybe some of their thinner HD coax this would save drilling another hole as they 2 cables would fit through the same hole..so i am told

So how about if you have a quad LNB on a sly dish can you use the spare 2 for Free Sat? Does the sat point in the same direction?

cheers m8 (guess what im doing this weekend lol other than falling off the ladders in the wind )

are there any 'prefered' freesat boxs or doesnt it matter (im not meaning for free channels obviously lol) im meaning stable updatable box's cos one of the reasons i left sky was the box they sent me was forever breaking down or just plain not working in the end i worked out it worked for 1 week out of every 3 and i cut it off and went freeview only (thank god for broadband lol)
