    Attention The DF 6-Pack Challenge

Following on from gurucurt's thread showing a celebrity 6 pack challenge, we've had the idea to have one here in Guns Gym.....The DF 6-Pack Challenge!

Post a "before" pic in this thread and the date it was taken, your starting weight, then 6 weeks later post another pic, the date and your new weight.

Bear in mind you will need time to get yourself prepared for this, both mentally and also to get your food ready and diet cleaned right up.

Your start date can be whenever suits you but the finish date MUST be 6 weeks from that date (42 days later).

All entries must be received and finished by Friday 31st October 2008.

Please feel free to ask me anything that may help you on this challenge but don't waste my time if you aren't serious about doing it. Any stupid posts will just be deleted.
I have already posted some advice on a fat burn regime in another thread but feel free to look elsewhere for diets and training programmes.
"Cut the carbs out of your diet (bread, pasta, cereals like Weetabix etc)Substitute with porridge, rice and potatoes although have none of these after 6pm. Cut any excess sugars (sauces, sweets, chocolate, fizzy drinks), cut all fats (chips, butter, spreads), cut out breadcrumbs, batter, fried foods, oily foods etc. Make sure you drink at least between 3 litres of water over the course of the day, more when you train, it can help flush out the fat cells. Cleaning your diet up will help no end as your cardio will be burning off existing fat and you will not be taking on anymore either. Just remember everything that you put in your mouth needs to be burnt off again.

You need to step up that cardio too. 30mins x 5 a week is not enough to burn of your gut in that short amount of time. I would say you need to be doing 2 x 60mins (2 x 45 mins at an absolute minimum) per day 7 days a week (1 x am session, 1 x pm session). If you do this you will see the drastic results you require. A top tip is Just before you get on the cardio, do 3 or 4 sets of 20 sit-ups to turn on your stomach muscles so that when you are doing your cv they are nice and tight. It wouldn't hurt to get as many sets of sit-ups in during the day as you can.

This is a strict regime that will offer great results if and only if you can be discipl;ined and motivated to stick to it. 8 weeks will give you enough time to get what you want out of it, some people follow these fat burn programmes for 12-16 weeks so just tell yourself it could be twice as bad."

Excellent work Roach, Like said above, Will read the mens health magazine, sort my food habits out and get a pic prepared. This is probably not going to be fun, but hopefully will be well worth it!
Will be gutted if i end up looking like Scott Mills!!

Also you mention no carbs after 6pm...what are you allowed to eat if anything?

Fuck all chance of a six pack but desperate to lose a few stone.

Can't find scales so will talk to lady Fred later. Also got loads of beers and bbq food to eat this weekend so will update my post on Monday and commence. I was 16.5 stone when I weighed myself at the start of the year.

Feel free to wank over these lush pics.

What are the chances of following something like this and getting to a decent shape from 19 stone. I am big and obviously over weight but i am still quite fit, i can cycle till my legs drop off, 25 miles mountain biking 40 miles road biking is not out of the question.

If i could stick to something like this for 6 weeks solid where do you think that i might get....?

    The link's there pal.

"No carbs" in terms of rice or potatoes. All other vegetables are fine; obviously they contain carbs but will do your gut no harm what so ever so eat as many greens etc as you like.

Remember to weigh yourselves at the same time of the day say no more than 3 times a week would be advisable as opposed to every day. Diet and training diaries are a great idea and post in here or pm others to discuss progress, problems, questions etc as it can help with your motivation.

I reckon you would lose on average between 2 and 4lbs per week so potentially just under 2 stone but the best bit is that it would be pretty much all fat. You will lose some muscle mass but this can be kept to a minimum by doing some weights as well as the large amount of cardio.

Sounds tough. Something I would really need to prepare myself for. I'm only a stone or so over anyway, mostly due to beer. Can't do anything for a while as have my summer holiday in two weeks time.

I may well give this a go, maybe start with a slightly lighter regime and build up to it. One question tho, is once you have done your two months, does the weight you've lost etc stay at that level, or are you going to have to keep up more than normal exercise to maintain it?

Most people would do this once a year and every year after the initial regime, the weight and fat will drop off much easier i.e. the longer you carry it around the harder it will be to shift.
