mate, you dont seem to be hitting the weights to hard but more concentrating on the cardio jogging so perhaps leave the whey till you have dropped a bit of weight from the cardio?

roach may be able to advise you better on this matter im not 100% on the effects of whey on weight

I was going to do a thread about whey powder use this week, and may still do.

Guessing at quantities I went through your journal for monday and calorie wise it came out around maintenance level for someone with a desk job/fairly sedentary job, and looking at your goals they are to drop some weight and tone up a bit.

To lose any weight you obviously have to take in less calories than you are using and at a guess I'd say a shake made with 50g of powder is 200 calories. You could take a drop in the amount of protein you are taking in, and sub a couple of tins of tuna or a tub of light cottage cheese in and would lower your calories at the same time.

If your goal was to bulk up and you needed extra protein then maybe whey would be the way, but you are already taking in protein in your diet in the fish and chicken and the amounts you get from the other things like porridge.

The reason for taking the whey is to maintain muscle mass as much as possible when you are burning fat.

Your weight will plateau and sometimes go up slightly but as long as you keep up your cardio and keep your diet strict. Some weights would be good too to gain some muscle and burn off more fat.

fcuking hell i learnt alot today!
Went into the shop and must have tried about 4-5 diff pairs..never realized what a difference the shoes could make.
1st pair i put on..jumped on the treadmill for a few min and the pair got swapped straight away because my right leg was swinging out to far like a duck..£65 quid later i got my shoes..cant believe i was running on astro turfs all this time..should see a massive improvement by the end of the week!

Ive got no jogging route planned for tonight..im planning to keep on going till i cant do more..post my results in a bit

I couldn't believe what a difference the shoes made
I started and then completely forgot to breathe..so i ended up at 1.3 miles with a very painful heart and out of breathe..this was bang on the 10 min mark ...I walked for 0.2miles and then jogged the rest back..took me 20 min in total..my left ankle still has a slight pain to it but im sure it will go soon but atleast i know what todo tomorrow morning ..

My pm routine included the normal pressups/situps which are all different types (il post info soon) I also got one of these..(dead dead cheap because the chest thing does not work)
