    Default Parallels or VMware Fusion

    Hi,

I hope this hasn't been discussed before.

What are peoples thoughts on using Parallels or VMware Fusion for running XP?

I am trying out Parallels now and it seems to run ok but VMware Fusion seems to be better integrated for applications on to the OS-X desktop. The only Windows apps I use are Outlook and Newsleecher

    Thanks

    Paul

I use VMware having tried both it seemed more stable. Parrels crashed and I had to reinstall it, after that I tried VMware and liked it alot more, also VM has loads of downloads on there site.

Why not use Entourage on the Mac, I cant think of anything that Outlook does that Entourage 2008 doesnt. I also would recomnend SABnzbd for the mac, as imo its far better than Newsleecher.

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for the info, very useful.

To be honest the main reason for staying with Outlook is because I have a massive .pst file and I don't have the time to be moving everything over. It would be much simpler if Entourage could just read the Outlook .pst files! Anyway I made the decision to give Entourage a go today and have frozen Outlook so I can use it for historical emails only now and see how it goes from there.

I agree Parallels does seem a little unstable but it does work, my 14 day trial is about to run out in a couple of days so I might give Fusion a go as it can import the Parallels image.

I'll check out that link too - many thanks.

    Regards

    Paul

Unf. fella that only seems to work with Outlook 2001 for Mac .PST files (unless you know otherwise) and I am on Outlook 2007 for Windows. Thanks for the link anyway.

O2M works a treat from Outlook 2007 to Entourage 2008
