    Help Bio Diesel ?

Right first off i did a search on here but have not found a positive answer ..

Ok im a taxi driver and currently do around around 800 miles per week at the rate of the diesel prices going up day by day is getting harder to make money.

I drive a 55 reg Vectra 1.9 CDTI i wanted to know if i started using bio would i have problems i have read about people having fuel pump problems but thats about it.

If i used it would i put 100% bio in or 50% diesel and 50% bio .. Im not too sure and wanted to ask on here if anyone had tried or still uses it.

I have a few questions if anyone could answer i would be very gratefull

    My question's are

    1) Do you currently use bio diesel ?
    2) Have you thought about using it?
    3) Do you notice any differences in performance?
    4) Have you had any fuel pump problems?
    5) Have you made your own or do you buy it?
    6) What make and year is the car (if you use it )?

I think that covers all my questions.

    Regards

    Kev.

Look up the price of a fuel pump. Dunno about that specific engine but new pumps for common rail diesel engines can cost a bit more than you'd think.

A new diesel pump is going to cost about £400 - £500 but if i used bio and my pump was ok for quite a while i would of saved a lot more than what the pump is going to cost to replace.

It currently costs me between £150 - £200 per week in diesel thats paying 129.9 bio diesel costs about 75p / litre saving me 55p / litre i would probably save £400 in the first month alone.

Im hoping getting a new fuel pump every few months isnt an option though but thats the way i was thinking it might not be practical but helps me enjoy a better lifestyle instead of giving all my hard earned cash to this shitty goverment.

The vauxhall 1.9 CDTi can't use pure bio or vegie oil is what I hve read and been told over and over. I have heard of people useing 85% diesel and 15%bio without problems but that is really the limit.

never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups!

I am thinking about doing down this route...
    http://www.bio-power.co.uk/makeit.htm
    Cheap option
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BARREL-FILTRAT...em120281317917
    Expensive but cleaner/easier
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BIOFUEL-REACTO...3286.m14.l1318

Seems like a great way to do it if you can get a decent supply of waste oil.

From what i have read it is also Duty free for the first 2500 litres so even the expensive unit would pay for itself in a few months.

It's only duty free for personal use, if you use it in conjunction with a business then you have to pay duty.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

I would rather pay for it its easier coz if LJ it right its would be worth my while spending out when i can only use 15% worth of bio ..

Im going to go to the local bio station and i will ask them if they know if its ok to use.

Also my m8 works as a mechanic for vaux i will get him to check with someone.

I will you know what they all say ..
