[New Game] - WWE Legends of WrestleMania - March '09

WWE Legends of WrestleMania will be a video game based on legends and alumni of the professional wrestlingpromotion, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), who have appeared at WrestleMania in the 1980s and 1990s. It will be released in March 2009 to coincide with WrestleMania XXV.The game is being developed by YUKE's Future Media Creators and will be published by THQ, the same developer and publisher for the WWE SmackDown video game series.
Production of the video game was announced in May 2008 by THQ, respectively for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360video game consoles. A trailer for the game was released the following month at E3, featuring a recreation of the Hulk Hogan versus Andr� the Giantmain event at WrestleMania III.

DISTINGUISHED ROSTER AND MANAGERS - Relive the entertaining lives of more than 40 larger-than-life WWE Legends. Legendary Managers will also have extensive functionality, playing important roles in match outcomes.
ABSOLUTE REALISM - Embrace a historically accurate representation of WWE telecasts from the Eighties and Nineties, including dynamic visual treatments, signature ring entrances, renowned commentators, notable venues and much more.
COMBO FIGHTING SYSTEM - Explore a new, grapple-based fighting system that captures the high-energy action and drama seen in historic WWE matches. Players will have each Legend's arsenal of grapple moves, strike attacks, reversals and taunts at their disposal throughout a variety of current and nostalgic match types.
WRESTLEMANIA TOUR MODE - Participate in key matches from multiple WrestleMania events. Vintage WWE footage will set up matches, explain feuds and detail the rivalries behind them, situating players in the heart of each contest.
CREATE-A-LEGEND - Create the Legends of tomorrow, complete with customizable costumes, entrances, move sets and more.
ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY - Challenge players around the world to matches on the biggest stages in WWE history.

The game promotes a new combo fighting system that is grapple-based. Unlike the SmackDown series, Legends of WrestleMania is focused more on arcade-style gameplay with only the D-pad (or left analog stick) and the four face buttons needed on the gamepad. During play, the player's HUD will feature a health bar and a number between one and three. After successful chains of attacks, the number will increase with more devastating moves now available. After completing the third level of moves, the wrestler's finishing move can then be performed. Continuous chains of moves are performed by pressing a button allocated by the screen before the player's opponent can. If the opponent beats the player at this, then the move is blocked and the chain is broken.

Managers and valets will play a significant part of the game, and will interfere on behalf of their clients. Features similar to the SmackDown series such as create-a-legend mode and online gameplay will also be featured in the game.[1] It has been noted that each move in the game will have a brand new animation and are not recycled from moves featured in the SmackDown series. A new mode featured is the WrestleMania Tour where classic WrestleMania matches can be recreated with classic WWE footage included to introduce the bout.

WWE commentator Jim Ross, a long-time advocate for a WWE legends video game, has mentioned on his personal blog that he has recorded voice-overs for the game. Rumoured wrestlers playable in the game include Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Road Warriors, The Undertaker and The Rock amongst others.

That means we would have TNA/WWE 2009 to take us through to the end of the year... then a fresh hit of... well old wrestling early 09.

Lets just hope they return to the play of old titles, i really hated 2007/2008. Trying way to hard on crap that does not matter.

It went to tits when it become 'vs Raw' imo.

Anyone else got visions of them adding about 5 legends to a trim down smackdown vs raw 2009 roster and leaving us be??

And how many of the current roster will be playabale in it? Triple H, Taker, Cena, Batista, Edge and Kane will not exactly make it worth shelling out for

Hopefully they can add the likes of Bret Hart, Bigelow, Old School purple gloves taker, Owen Hart, Buldog, LOD, Bushwhackers and i know i would go crazy if they add the four horseman.

Then make it compatible with Smackdowns vs raw 2009, so 2 rosters of 40 each become 80, and you can use characthers from either in each,

hopefully they'll take wrestlers from "Legends Of Wrestling" game as the game itself was pretty pants but the roster was shit hot..
