    Default Goodbye cable, hello sat!

After more years than I care to remember I've thrown all my Virgin toys out of the pram and cancelled their TV/phone/broadband package.
I've now got a month to work out what kind of sat system I want.

It needs to be HD and I think I want a motorized system.
My brother has sky HD so I can use him to get a sky+ HD box for £75. My wife wants some German channels (!), can I pick these up on 19E with a sky box and a motorized dish?

Anyone have any experience of either the Dreambox DM800 HD or the Technomate 6900 HD? I've spent years tinkering with my pace box and then dbox so I'm happy to have a play
If I want to investigate CS can I do this with a proper sky box or do I need one of the other HD boxes?

Any tips for a newbie gratefully received.

    TIA,
    W.

The DM800 HD is being beta'd (or at least the software is) in Germany so it's hard to get an opinion at the moment.

I got this a couple of days ago

    Thanks for the replies guys.

wizzard I was just doing some more research and decided that the DM800 was going to be no good (no HDMI, only 1 tuner) and I need a DM8000. But if the 800 is £350 god knows what the 8000 will be (800 euros?!) - is it even available yet?

Can I pair a sky card with one of these boxes? (I was thinking of having a kosher contract while I work out how things work!).

I've now thought about building a media centre type PC and maybe putting one of these in:
    http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=820233
can't see how to get a CAM in there? And I guess the support won't be as good as for the drembox.

    Ah decisions, decisions!

Dreambox fan myself and frankly HD support is so laughable on my service that it's not really worth bothering!
