i'll be watching whatever i can. should be interesting to see what that young diver can do, and that female bmx rider.
The thing i can't stand is the 4 hour opening and closing ceremonies which are just a load of shit IMO.

But I will be watching as much I can.

I can't stand the bloody thing.

I can't stand all the bloody politics, and I can't stand the media circus that goes with it.

Doubt I'll be watching any of it.

Was hoping John Titor was right, and it would be cancelled.

really looking forward to USA vs China in the basketball. I am a big olympic fan - seeing the best in the world compete at sports i would normally never be interested in is quite excited. They make shooting and fencing really interesting!

I've been watching the opening ceremony and although I'm sure it's really good to watch live it got boring pretty quick on TV. As for the rest of the olympics I think the media is more interested in it than anyone else.

ETA: I'm fucking sick of hearing about 2012, it's 2008 ffs.

Love Olympics. Great seeing loads of sports I don't normally watch / that aren't ever on TV, and people at the absolute peak of their sport.

Also, BBC has a 1-hour highlights of the opening ceremony from 7-8pm, which is much better than the 4-hour thing live.

WOW!!! Opening Ceremony was simply amazing.

Now that the Olympics are here, I wish all the high horse riders, do gooders and people who like to form shallow opinions on the back of a bias anti-China media view will sit back and let people enjoy the games.

Ordinary Chinese people are very proud of this moment so let’s join them and enjoy watching the women’s beach volleyball…

Anti-China media? fcuk off, the commentators were scared to say a word against China during that ceremony and generally any other media that you may deem as Anti-China is because of the shit that happens in China, it's facts, not propoganda.

Let me get this straight... you don't think that the western media is anti-China?

I would say that it is.

Whether shit happens or not, it can be reported, but there is always a slant at which the information is framed.

I would say the fact that there is constant reference to pro-Tibet isses in the Olympics as highlighting an anti-China agenda.

We are talking 100's and 1,000's of protestors against 1,000,000,000 of people who would actually be against or not give a shit about Tibet being split off.

You don't see the media mentioning Northern Ireland every time England are involved in a sporting event and we don't need to list the atrocities committed in the name of Queen and country on that issue.

If the Olympics were held in the USA today, would the media be constantly going on about the human rights of the millions of black underclass that exists there; or about Iraq and imperialist USA policies??? No, cause on the whole, our media is pro-US.

People in the west still have a huge mental block with “communism” – just look how much more friendly we are to Russia and other eastern European countries since they dropped “communism”.

Just goes to highlight the bias in your mind set - that the media should be saying stuff against China during the ceremony. Why, wtf has it got to do with the ceremony? Stick to topic. I wouldn’t expect to hear any words about Paris Hilton’s cnut during the ceremony as that also has nothing to do with the events either.
