Problem with PC game

Hi Folks, thought i could pick youre brains if I may

I recently came into possesion of Fifa Manager 07, not normally my cup of tea but I thought I'd give it a shot

Ive installed the game onto my laptop but when i try to launch it I get a message saying "please insert original disc instead of a backup" the disc is an original which is very puzzling for me

I rang EA's support line and the guy said because I have a few burning programs this may cause the game not to run properly, I also have Zone alarm which he suggested may also cause it to fuck up

Is there any way of disabling these programs without actually uninstalling them?

or if this isnt the case what could be causing this problem

To simple disable a program hold down clrl alt delete at the same time go to system processes and end which process you wish. Or so you dont have to do this you can go start click on run and typein 'msconfig' Go to 'statrtup' option and then you wil lsee the list of programs that automatically start when windows does. You can cancel programs that start on startup.
