number 2, search for a program called putty (it's a telnet client).

number 3, get hold of a copy of dcc295 (dreambox control centre) as this has telent built into it.

got it already but don't understand all the telnet options.

just put in the dm ip login and pass on the main screen.

then go to the telnet tab and follow the previous instructions.

What options in telnet DCC ?

Tick usb box ?

Doesn't ask for password !

Several options down the side like mount,unmount etc.

Under that, you have login.

Name = root

Passw = dreambox (unless you have previously changed it, but if you haven't used telent thats unlikely).

Then ignore all tabs except the one that says telnet (grey box near the bottom on the left).

Click that.

Then you should auto be logged into the box via telnet.

From there all you need to do is type:

ipkg install /tmp/barryallen.ipk

Ok grab a copy of flashwizard pro.

Reboot the dreambox (leave the usb stick in it).

Then open flashwizard (put in the ip, login and pass again) then use the option format usb

This is just fucking insane it won't connect says invalid login or password but thats bollox as it connects if I use an FTP program.

ok just double check you have put in the correct ip address.

login = root

pass = dreambox

double check there both in lowercase.

If you still have no joy, reboot the pc and the dreambox and try flashwizard again.

tried it all no difference NO JOY.

I don't know what else to try then mate.

Maybe your usb stick is faulty (i've had 2 die on me in the last couple of months).

But that doesn't explain why your getting an invalid login with flashwizard, yet the same details let you login via ftp and telnet.

I've tried 3 different sticks.

I need FlashWizard Pro 6.3 I can only find version 4.
