I've got the non-HD version the DM-600pvr. Exactly the same thing AFAIK, except for no HiDef. They don't have HDMI sockets tho, you have to connect with DVI (?) and separate audio.

Use a PLi image from http://www.pli-images.org/

I use Iolite, but there is a newer one called Jade, which I haven't tried yet. Both are available for the 800 box.

Use a program called DreamUp to flash the images on them.

Normally you need to buy a cable....you have an amp you can connect it to?

Not sure. You may end up having to buy them yourself.

The reason for no HDMI was a licensing problem IIRC. The bigger 8000 box (Same but with multiple tuners) had the same issue, and as a result was maybe not going to be released at all. They may bundle a cable in to be nice.

dvi does not carry sound, just picture only
DVI technology is only capable of carrying picture, NOT sound. When using a DVI connection a seperate audio cable will be required.
