You could try using Thinstall to create the portable app although I think I found one that someone has already done

you are a star thank you so much..... Also as a side not for anyone with a slingbox if you copy and paste the program files\slingmedia folder to your pendrive and create a shortcut to the exe this works - it also remembers your settings so i now have portable dbox sweet!
