Popped its head out of the water and weeds in the garden pond last night, so grabbed a quick shot. The white circular-type things is the outside light reflecting off the surface of the water - unavoidable I'm afraid.

The detail on the nearside eye is excellent Paul, and the colour and exposure throughout is really nice, with great contrast and makes it look really bold. But the DoF is just too shallow for the angle of the shot I think, all we have here is 1 eye in focus and then lots of brown. I think a different angle (from the front perhaps) or increasing the DoF either on camera or via stacking would have made it a great shot.

Nice to see you in the forums again Carl. You take too long a break between posts!
The frog was up against the pond edge, it was close to midnight I think, and the light was from the light up on the house 10 feet away. I kept the ISO high to hold the detail which forced the aperture and shutter speeds to what they are.
I think it was OK, but I see your points buddy.
Thanks for looking in.
Paul.
looks as if the eye is sitting out of the pic m8 well done looks class
i like it and the reflections, a bit more clearer maybe
i like it the one eye in focus and the one out looks ok to me and the white light reflections look good (i prefer it with them rather than how it would look without them)
