Is her mobile up for renewal...?

There are a lot of PDA/Phones out there that will work fine and sync with computer and run windows mobile like most PDA's do.

Ok so on a serious note, will your GF be wanting to sync with her work system?

If so are they using Exchange / Outlook ?

I've used a few of the HP Ipaqs, and have always rated them.

They run Windows Mobile, so you have Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Media Player etc.

Agreed I have an Ipaq and they are brilliant. I regularly listen to mp3's on them when I'm out and about. I have a spare one kicking about if your interested? it's about 3 years old I think but depends what your after.

Definatly a pocket pc ruining windows mobile pro. she will get word and excel, active sync will sync with outlook and exchange, it can also pick up pop mail via a mobile connection. most have wireless built in now. the mobile phone thing is a top thing to consider as the HTC PDA's are very good and they now do smaller ones.

My first PDA was just that and it sort of got left in the house a lot due to its size it was a little bulky to carry about as well as a mobile phone. Then orange went with the HTC/SPV's phone and pda in one yes it was huge but i only had to carry one device the result was I started using it more and found how useful it was I then got a few upgrades to the M500 and the M3100 and my current HTC Tytn2 the later 3 are the smaller sized pda's which makes them even more pocket friendly. the tytn2 even has GPS built in for that works with tom tom.
just look at the size difference.
M1000 on the left tytn2 on the right.

The advantages of windows mobile over the likes of palm and the iphone are mainly based around the known interface of windows, outlook, excel and word most people use them in their pc life so no need to learn new software, no need for converting files created on the pda so you can view or edit it on the PC, ok newer pda's use the docx (office 2007) files but you can set it to save as .doc for 2003 and earlier. syncing between pc's with vista requires no additional software it is built in to vista with XP you need active sync but that comes with them or can be downloaded. The pda can sync with an exchange server, there is also the option with windows mobile 6 for a remote wipe so if it gets lost or stolen from the server the pda can be cleared of any data which is a cool feature.

never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups!

I'm with Little John, the TyTN 2 is a cracking device. The Palm devices have had their day, Windows Mobile is loads better due to the extra features and expandability it provides. The Palms are very basic.
    I was selling a TyTn2 a while back but it's gone now.
If the TyTn is too big, the HTC Vox is great alternative.

Doesn't have a touch screen but is much better as a phone as it has a phone keypad on the front, but still has a slide out keyboard. I sold one last month, may have another in a couple of weeks. I'll stick it in the BST page if I do.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.
