w00p first vote. Was a hard one again this month, really liked Mackem strats entry again would like him to post more pics day to day as they are always cool Baronvon got my vote as I was at the coast and on a few piers this month and didn't even think of that shot. I like it

Voted... It was a clear choice between Wingnut and DP for me, but DP's narrowly took it. Some other really good efforts this month on a difficult theme. It's probably a good thing I didn't find the time to get the shot I had in mind since it would have been almost identical to DP's

Meant to reshoot mine, but the one day I go to do it the owner of the house (an old lady) was in her garden pruning stuff, so didn't manage it oh well.... on to next month!

Cast me vote, tough call. Narrowed it down to 4 to chose from this month, my own being one of them, but discounted that straight away, as my vote would have been biased..
So a close race in my book between MML, DP and baronvon.
Baronvon's is a great picture, great composition with the leading lines into the background and low view point allowing us to see the texture of the wooded beams with all it's grains and bumps, but what let it down for me was the wonky horizon. Tut Tut.. DP's is a cracking shot with the long exposure to make silk like water surface conditions and a the jetty leading into the image heading off in to an amazing backdrop, but it didn't get my vote for several reasons, firstly I have seen enough jetty off into distance shots to now be bored with them, I think the PP work has stolen some of the feeling from the image maybe a subtle hint of desaturation and increased contrast may have pulled the jetty from the image, as it is I feel it lost against the backdrop, plus, and this is just a personal interpretation of the theme, the main bulk of the image is not wood. Had there been a more closer view of the jetty in my book that would have fitted the theme better. Not saying that it isn't a cracking image worthy of sitting on anyone lounge wall, I would have liked to seem more wood in the shot. Oh er misses. So that leaves MML's shot, which did get my vote. Technically not the best, I think the focal point could have been on the wood rather than the cobweb and I would have liked to see the colour version as I reckon the wood has a deep rich dark colour to it. but I loved the composition, the converging diagonals and the way it fits perfectly with this months theme. Well done mate you my vote.
Also well done to everyone who entered nice to see such a wide range differing images based around one theme. Once again soory about my limited response to my cast vote. Can't think of much to say really. Will try harder next time...

@ livesytowers, thx for your comments m8, i would post more but i really struggle to find the time, the monthly comp is about the only thing i make time for to get my camera out of its bag ;(. i will try and make an effort tho
