Unhappy Rangers keeper McGregor a target for Man Utd?

It has been reported today that Rangers out-of-favour goalkeeper Alan McGregor, is being looked at by Manchester United as a possible back-up for the 37 year-old Edwin van der Sar, who has been looking a little shaky for United lately.

McGregor is a well-regarded Scottish international, and at 12 years younger than Van de Sar, has a lot more years of top class football in front of him.

Rangers coach Walter Smith has dropped McGregor in favour of Neil Alexander for the last two games, amid rumours that Smith was annoyed with McGregor's off-the-field activities, where he is known as a bit of a playboy.

But fellow Scot Alex Ferguson is used to managing previously difficult personalities and would be confident of harnessing McGregor's ability to his advantage.
