Why the fuck would you consider getting a loan if you are unemployed? How are you going to repay it? One good thing to come out of the credit crunch is that irresponsible lending should be a thing of the past. I'd recommend the bus or walking..............

I'd hope in todays financial climate that nobody would give you a loan, but I'll probably be proved wrong.

If you need a car badly save up £100 and buy a banger.

The Social Fund could be a place to try. It's a Government run scheme to lend people money for essentials, but one of the criteria is that it may assist in getting someone back to work.

Best of all, it's interest free if you get it.

that is not best at all, presumably interest free because i have to subsidize the fucking scrotes that get it.

if you aint got a job you shouldnt get a loan, if you can pay for a loan then you should pay for it just like everybody else.

please god, one day, make those who take from us pay, pay dearly.

I dunno, I like the assisting in getting people back to work bit, as then they'll also be chucking their hard earned in the pot. I'll bet there are probably a load of other stupid things they give them out for though.

i agree carl, as long as it is not abused.
if it means that someone needs to buy a suit for interview purposes then fair enough, if they are genuinely trying. and i pat them on the back and wish them all the luck, that way if they work they can help fund the nhs, schools, police, etc etc etc

    /off topic
but, digressing slightly, why the fuck should I - via the welfare state - be providing people with widescreen tvs, x-boxes and staffordshire bull terriers. this is a luxury and some that i cannot afford, so why should the lazy be afforded with such privileges.
    /back on topic

    why is it disapproving?

the current financial climate has been caused by lax lending practices.. to people who cant afford to repay it.

now assuming what he says about being able to afford the repayments is true (in which case, he should have said so in the OP to avoid an obvious lambasting given this boards views about credit while unemployed), whos to say hes gonna be in a job in no time considering the news today is bleating on about the number of jobs going?

i dont think its disapproving, its more a reflection of how pissed off the general public are at the amount of shit going on thanks to people who will take any credit they can get and the banks giving it out....

its to be expected given the badly thought out first post.

It ain't bitching, it's common fucking sense. I don't care if he's just left a job or has never worked, the fact remains he shouldn't be taking out credit if he is unemployed.

The reason the financial world is in it's present state is because of irresponsible bankers lending to even more irresponsible borrowers.

Rather than be nice to every cunt, let's try giving sensible advice instead and see if we can't all fucking benefit as a result.

have to agree with CJ here, unless owning a car is absolutley essential to getting a job, getting a loan on the promise of a job which may never happen is a bad idea. with all the economic doom and gloom we hear every day, now isnt the time to take risks.

Im due to start another new job next week and to be honest a car would make the whole thing more barable but i cant afford it, I'll spend an extra half an hour on the bus in a morning reading the metro

the fact its a college bus full of fanny has nothing to do with it.

It's a common misconception that the Social Fund is purely for the unemployed.

The Social Fund CAN be applied for by people with Low Incomes in need of cash in unexpected circumstances, interest free.

    http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/...ocial_fund.htm

But usually the circumstances could be for Funeral expenses, furnishings for a new flat, the costs of a new born baby or even medical/dentistry treatment!

You CAN apply for it, no matter your circumstances, whether your awarded it is another matter, for a new car it's seen as a luxury, so I doubt they'll entertain it (Unless, some have argued, that you are in cahoots with immigration!!!)
