    Default Top Gear Australia

    Anyone watched this?

I know they sold the format to the Aussies but this is a carbon copy. They are using a complete copy of the studio, the star in a "bog standard" car feature, the challenges, the Stig etc. Even down to the filters the camera men are using are the same as the UK version. The only difference I can see between this and the UK version is the people presenting it but even they are quite like the characters in the UK show. There's a short younger guy (the Hammond), the main presenter must have been to Clarkson presenting school and the bloke with the tash is the Captain slow James May.

Overall if you like Top Gear it's worth a watch. I just want them to have a few better challenges like us Brits get.

Watched episode1, watch an unashamed rip off.

Not a patch on Top Gear 'UK'

Thing that makes Top Gear so great is the presenters, without Clarkson, Hammond and May it ain't the same.

Yeah it's a total rip off but for some reason I think it's got potential. Admittedly it's not as funny as the UK version but I quite like the presenters and I've only watched 2 episodes.

D/L but not yet watched. Will check it out when I can and post back!

    ***EDIT***

Watched a little of the first ep. It's okay, no way near as good as the UK one.

I particularly liked the first bit, as they were on Fraser Island, and I've been there. Gotta laugh at the stig bits and the "Star In A Bog Standard Car".

It's something to watch until the UK starts up again!

    Watched all 3 so far.

Obviously not a patch on the UK version but, like Fifth Gear, I'm still enjoying it and will watch them all.
