Default airbag module resetting - airbag light

    I had a quick question...
i know that in honda's and acura's once an airbag is deployed the ecu registers a trigger..and even if the bag is replaced the airbag light will still be on...

I heard of this "dumping" ... put the original code (PRE ACCIDENT) back into the airbag module to get rid of the trigger..

    i.e.
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF = original code
FF FF FF 06 FA 05 FF FF = Airbag deployed code

i was wondering what product is used to get the original data and put it into the airbag module

    THANKS

the ones you showed from ebay...are those simple airbag light CLEARER's...because keep in mind, if its a hard code, you clear it , it will come right back

What you need to do is to clear the 'crash' data from the Airbag ECU. To be honest there will be NO way it can be done via OBDII on a Honda. I have only ever seen this done on a VW/AUDI, even then its tricky and you have to plug resistors into the airbag connectors to trick the Airbag ECU into thinking the Airbags are good while you clear the crash data in-circuit.

The way you would have to do it is to open up the Airbag ECU and identify which device is being used to store the crash data. It will either be a SERIAL EEPROM (i.e. 93c56, 95020 etc..) or a Microcontroller with eprom built into the unit.

If you can post good hi-rez pics then I will do my best to id the chip for you and advise.
