Seems liek you have the bt home hub v 1.5. Done a quick search and it seems quite alot of people are having or have had this problem. Alot of people suggesting it is down to it overheating. Is it in a well ventialted area? Dont really know much about them, best bet is to call bt m8.

thank you, yea ive done some looking around and again seems to point to over heating, its on a desk with nothing around it so yea its well vented, i have noticed it is getting hot, alot hotter than when i first got it. thats prob why there is a new hub on the market now.
Will ring them this weekend and see what they say, hopefully its just a case of them sending me another but with BT you just never know lol

My mates was doing exactly the same thing. Told him to get a new Netgear DG834GT and he's happy as larry with it. Not dropped his connection since he got it two weeks ago. He said it's always used to dropp regularly; once or twice a day...

when i was with bt i got a new hub 3 times and it was pretty easy (had the v1 and 2 v1.5's) when you ring up and tell them that its not working right (the restarting issue was enough) they'll ask you what os your using i normally run debian linux (im having to learn vista and xp at the moment as the systems at my new job use microsofts ''best'') and on hearing the words debian linux they just give up and send out a new one

Just call them up tell them you are pissed off with their shite service and that you wanna cancel, before they put you through to cancellations someone will ask you why you want to cancel, tell them, and i'm pretty sure you will get the new hub, it worked for me, i got the new hub, and a 18 month contract for the price of 12 months.

so for a new hub that if your old one was overheating should have been replaced anyway, they got you to agree to a new 12 month contract? you really showed them fella

lol no there was nowt wrong with my hub i was just saying if he phones them up threatening to cancel he will get a new hub.

I can think of worse isp's than bt though, where else would i be allowed to download 100 gig a month, wihout being capped? So another 12 months with them wasn't so bad methinks.
