Getting USB Hardrive to work with 360 or ps3

I have a 1TB Western Digital My Book with some divx on. The hardrive isnt seen by the 360 or ps3 when i connect it in the usb ports, is there any way i can get this hardrive to come up as a removable drive? to play divx etc? is there any software or do i need to stick to streaming it?

My 2GB USB Pen stick works and i thought i would be able to do the same

Format it using MacDrive

Its probably using the XP format (can't remember the name) and the 360 only accepts FAT32.

I'd move all your files before doing any formatting.

or just format it to fat32 will be seen by both consoles but there is a 4gig size limit on files

on the ps3..when you go to movies and it shows your hdd..press triangle and then display all

Macdrive (HFS+ format) is your best option, then you can play WMV-HD files (on your 360) too without any file size limitation.

Doesn't work on the ps3 though mate - do fat32 works for both consoles and if it just for divx they are never going to be over 4 gig.

Also a great tip above, on the ps3 select the drive, press triangle then do show all.

Copy all your files back to your pc / format to fat32 and stick all files back on is no hassle really

its the only option for the PS3, format FAT32 then reload files

I have about 10gb free on my pc

Tried looking in the video section on ps3, couldnt seem to find anthing relevant, just BD Data, my Tversity server and search for another media server..

yeah on my 360 sorry (was trying to play cod and type at same time)...if i remember correctly, it formatted quite quickly....i use macdrive (7 i think)
