Photo Competition - November *Photos ONLY*

This month's competition theme as chosen by BertRoot is "Processed".

As you'll probably have guessed by the title, we're slackening the 'post processing' rule this month. So show us what you can do...

NOTE: This thread is for photos ONLY

Closing date will be the 23rd.

Please read the rules below before posting your entry.

Rules:

• Must be your own work.

• Only 1 entry each.

• Entries can be changed once during the competition if you feel you've taken a better shot, but please make a separate post with the new entry and edit out your old image from your previous post, to keep things in the correct chronological order.

• Max file size 800x600 250KB. (There's info on optimising your image size in the sticky of the same name)

• Pictures to be embedded into your post in this thread rather than attached. (Use a free image host that allows hot linking such as imageshack or photobucket and encase the direct link in [IMG][/IMG] tags. There's a quick guide on how to do it here)

• Entries should to be taken for the competition rather than entering a previously shot image.

• Photoshop (or other imaging software) use is allowed, to enhance your image, but please remember this competition is about producing the best photo not the best piece of artwork. - Don't worry 'bout this rule for this month

Used the "Orton" process here, by having an oof image of the same in focus imsge, that is overexposed by one stop and then blended in Photoshop using an overlay blend.

My 1st ever entry into a photo competition. I've got the bug now & got myself a half decent bridge camera [Canon S3IS] and have taken some cracking shots..and some stinkers!

This one I'm particularly pleased with. Taken from about 30ft away in HI-Speed continuous mode, max optical [12x] zoom, and a 1.5 Fuji TC..and handheld!

Played with the curves a little in Photoshop.

well here goes. not the most interesting of pics but it will have to do.

curve adjustment to lighten the robin up but that washed out the blue sky. Created a layer mask and then brought the original blue sky back. finally croppped. Still not happy with it though....

Shot taken at the MPH Show in Birmingham last week.

Image sharpened, noise reducedm then converted to Black and white with some adjustments to tweak the contrast and exposure. Then selective gaussian blurring on the background and the mono hue added to make the car pop more.

My entry for this months comp.

"My boy"


Taken on my 40D with Sigma flash through a stofen diffuser bounced off the ceiling. Ran the original through Lightroom to adjust colour temp and tonal curve. Then ran through CS3 to add blue vignetting, layer mask to make eye's pop a little, smooth skin contours and remove tram lines runny nose, plus a few other minor blemishes. All in all about 30mins work from upload to final copy.
