    Default increasing appetite?

i simply cant eat enough food to put on weight. im following a good weighlifting plan and doing a lot of work but my weakness is food.

does anyone know any natural remedies or something like that, that will increase appetite? (not weed)

I am currently eating between 6 and 8 "meals" per day. It goes something like this:

6.30am Protein smoothie with 100gms porridge oats, soya milk and fresh fruit

9.30am Two poached eggs, some tomatoes (grilled) and a potato waffle.

12.30pm 100gms rice with 250gms turkey breast, sliced cucumber, black pepper & chilli powder.

3.30pm 1 small jacket potato with 1 tin of tuna (the one in spring water), some olive oil and black pepper.

5.30pm Protein shake (40gms whey powder and water).

7.30pm Turkey breast steaks with large portion of mixed green veg.

10.30pm Protein shake (40gms whey protein, 15gms L-Glutamine powder and water).

Smallish portions at regular intervals keep my metabolism working and don't blow me out (in terms of being too stuffed or full). I drink between 12 and 15 pints of water over the course of the day and 4 -5 cups of green tea.

Obviously for weight gain you would want to increase the carbs (potatoes, wholemeal rice and pasta) before 5pm. Also the inclusion of some red meat, keeping your protein intake high. If you can undertake this sort of intake in terms of number of meals it should help you to take in more over the course of the day.

Be wary of taking on too many refined carbs such white bread/white pasta, refined sugars and too many sauces. You want mass but through eating good food not shit.

Have a read of this for diet ideas: http://digital-forums.com/showthread.php?t=291785

it would actually take me 3 days to go through that and thats my problem mate

the girlfriend is a fitness instructor so im well advised on the workouts etc..

her solution is "the more you eat, the hungrier you get in future"

but i just dont have the appetite to even start the type of diet your on

    Quality! Who's she qualified with?

What I was trying to say is that you can try to "stretch" your appetite by building in more meals, however not big quantities of food for each meal.

havent a clue who shes qualified with. she went to college for a couple of years studying health promotion.
that was part of it aswell as a few other things

she doesnt work as a fitness instructor though. she went on to be a beauty therapist

i think i could sort it with smaller meals. can you by any chance give me a list of things that you would get with your shopping?

Based on what? The links Psx gave indicate it wouldn't be a problem over that timescale.

Depends on your age, height and weight. 15 pints over the course of my waking day (and some during the night is less than a pint every hour. As always advice and info on this forum is taken at the readers risk.

On reflection Psx has got a point so I think I'll reduce my intake.

    Thanks for the advice.
