130 quid graphics card???

dont want over spend but im going need a new graphics card by the looks or it for my new pc build

going be looking to spend 100-130 quid im budgeting for

however i have spotted this on ebay

what do people think?

nice cases them,,good quality and really well built..

quad core 6600 chip....again good choice

4 gig branded memory, nice its branded but does not say 2 strips or 4 , i could read all the mobo specs and find it only has 2 slots to answer my quetion but cant be arsed...(it has 4..i looked)

samsung dvd rom....ok

500gb hard drive.....thats for you to decide if its enough

now the let down ... asrock motherboard....aaarrrghhhhhh, unless they have improved by a bloody lot in the last year steer clear.....all the ones i have had dealings with have been pants compared to any other same spec board..

would be a nice setup if he would build it with another board.......

and 2 x 9600 gt cards...????.......one 9800 gt would just about do the same job and one 9800gtx would do better so saving a slot you can sli in the future when your one card starts to struggle..

9600 gt..............£70 ish
9800 gt..............£110 ish
9800 gtx............£140 ish

A 4850 can be twice as fast as that card, especially when you start to apply AA, so don't even think about one at that price, the 3870's go for about £40 second hand!

Look for prices on 4850's, should be able to get one for around £110.

I have just got a 280 nvidia from the states BFG 280 OC 1 gig for 225. retail is like 300-400. so if you look anything is possible. At £130 youd get an 8800 GTX or ultra second hand

hd4870 has amazing reviews im going splash out and get one for 170 quid if you have money waste get the hd4850x2

Have a look here mate, top to bottom on the GPU front.

It's top dog in its price bracket, but there are much faster solutions available if you have money to burn.

The 2x 8800GTS i had, played all games easily, both can be found for about £60 each on the auction sites.
They both keep up to my nvidia 280 thats cost £200 more

I second this at that pricepoint there isn't even any competition for the HD 4850 it is simple the best value for money card I've ever come across.

Out of interest what CPU are you using? I've been looking at this Quad core 6600, but after some reading it seems the Dual Core might be faster? The machine will mainly be for games.
