downloaded the far cry 2 using nzb from scene releases above, comin back as a bad rip

i used the nzb from scene releases above but when i run abgx360 it comes back as a bad rip



anyone else downloaded this release?? is there any way of me repairing it??

The corruption seems to have appeared in the actual game data itself, not within any of the stealth/info sectors. I've seen this sort of stuff happen during RAR extraction when someone has a bad stick of memory. Perhaps do an hour or two of memory testing with the memtest x86 boot CD? Also try un-rarring again to see if the corruption happens in the same place.

i use sabnzb mate, so if it unrars ok it deletes all the smaller rar files on completion:-/

so its not ok to use on live then and needs downloading again??

Ahhh, another SABNZBd user. It's pretty neat isn't it? I've got it working on my Debian desktop box pulling TV shows down via RSS. Works great!

No I wouldn't use that ISO for a burn, and I'd definitely run a memtest. If SABNZBd managed to complete the extraction, it means the RARs must have been fine after being par-checked. It might be interesting to see if any one else with the ISO finds that it doesn't check out either. I have the ISO but as far as I know the abgx360 checker isn't available as a Linux binary, is it? Edit: Seems the ISO is mashed, so ignore me.

Good call. There have been a lot of bad releases recently and not everyone (myself included) are completely up to date on which to avoid.

so the iso gives you the same error in abgx360 then mate?? as i've used the same hardware etc on every other iso i have and it hasn't given this error.

i've already burnt and used the iso and it plays fine

if you go into config in sabnzb, theres a section for newzbin, just input you r user details in there and select "auto fetch book marks"

then when you're browsing newzbin for whatever files, instead of having to drop the nzb's into the watch folder, you just click on the small bookmark logo to the left of the nzb arrow icon on the search results page.

it then auto downloads, unrars, repairs the file etc and drops it in your complete folder really good to think i used to use newsleecher and manually extract and repair everything! lol

ext3 (the filesystem) is so thorough that it makes sure you can't easily un-delete files. Oh well, I'll just down it again!
