need a new PCIe x16 gfx card

hi there anyone care to reccomend a fairly decent gfx card please

ive got an athlon 64 x2 2600 = nforce mcp61 chipset

2 gb ddr2 (can easy upgrade)

but left with crappy onboard card, anyone care to reccomend me a gfx card which aint pci-e2 or ddr3 (no point is there)

well u can get a pcie2 gfx no probs as they are backwards compatible and always go for a gfx with DDR3 coz that does make a difference.

I'd stick my neck out and say that the 9600GT range with 512Mb ram will proplly fit the budget and play most games to a good standard, also work wel in SLI if you have a baord that supports it.

If u are using XP 32 then no real nead for more ram for now, better just getting the gfx sorted, gimme ur top figure and i'll find u a decent gfx card for the money

I would go for an 8800 GTS, there about £60 now on ebay. 2 of them out (in SLI) performs the new Nvidia BFG 280 OC. Which i have just purchased for £300 and i am fecking annoyed lol

If you're unsure on your PSU, look into the Radeon 4670, very good performance with very low power consumption, sounds like exactly what you need.

Hi mate , not to sound nasty or anything.. But anything over a 3850/70 or 9600 is pretty pointless, That cpu wont be able to handle it.. I suppose you could get the best you can afford , and upgrade your board and cpu later... If so get a 48"" series card,, you cant go wrong
