Can i test to see if a 360 console is banned from live using silver membership?

My current Gold membership has run out and back to the silver one.

i have got another 360 and am not sure if its been banned or not, can i just put my current hard drive onto it and connect to live, will the silver membership be enough to see if im banned or not?

right i just fired up this 360, did a test. got to LIVE bit and says it ned to to a system update, and that i need to put a hard drive or mem card in 360 to continue.

ive not got on to hand so pressed cancel and it says failed cos it needed a storage device for the system update.

is this enough to say this 360 aint banned?

yes i think so. If it cannot connect to live because it is banned it shouldnt be asking you to update

i would say its fine mate, when the 360 gets banned it only signs your profile in, not your profile to live, so if its looking for an up date then should be fine, stop being a pussy, chuck a hdd on it and do it, cause if you dont then it might as well be banned anyway

First thing that you need to determine is if you are truly are banned from live, the easiest way to find this out is by the error code that you receive. So run a network connection test. When the connection fails, then check the Z value in the error code. 8015 - 190D means you have been banned. Note this means your console was banned - not your account or your storage device. This means that you have not lost any of your gamer achievements.
