Default Sky from India in UK

In India we have TATA Sky which is the Indian equivalent of Sky TV. It is even part owned by BskyB.

For about 4-450 rupees/month I get all the Premiership football including the midweek and Saturday 3pm games. This works out to be ony £6-7/month.

I was wondering if I brought the set top box over here, can I connect it to a dish and get it to work?

If you read a little on geo-stationary orbits you will see why this won't work.

However with a slingbox you could stream a decent quality picture home if you have an internet connection in India

Yep if your upload speeds are good enough.

yes I agree with that slingmedia is watchable at an upload speed of 300kbs but not for long, ideally you need 1 meg. I have mine connected to a dreambox running inadyn / web-x tv ideal for changing channels and Satellites (sling do have a remote feature but I found it unreliable ) I watch on my laptop wherever I go.

    regards
