Can someone explain to me what this "homebrew channel" is please.

Wii chipped with the wiikey and its running version 3.4e.

    Any clues?

homebrew channel lets you run homebrew coded apps like Wadmanager, homebrew browser etc.

To install it you can either download and run the iso or do the twilight hack

Thats the problem I have, dont know enough about what version to install and if I need to use what ever version there is.

What reasons do you know of that would change my mind and install it?

    Thanks for the reply.

only reason I installed it is because I don't have a chip and installed the soft mod.

If you want to download WiiWare and VC games then you will need Wadmanager which afaik can only be ran from the homebrew channel

It can now, as per above post but all I do is play downloaded wii games (pal) so would I gain from installing this homebrew?

Nothing apart from some crappie homebrew that you'd never play. As stated above the only real advantage is it gives you the wad manager which you can then use to install downloaded wiiware or VC games

Who wants to browse on a Wii and doesn't already own a DVD player? Not really a selling point for homebrew
